William Vaughn Lewis, a 55-year-old African American man, was tragically murdered on August 22, 2020, in San Antonio, Texas. He was found bleeding in the front yard of his home on Ferris Avenue after San Antonio police officers responded to a report of a shooting in progress. Despite being transported to a local hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The Bexar County Medical Examiner's Office confirmed that the manner of his death was homicide.
