Death by Force

Detective Bernabe Salazar Jr., aged 31, was a dedicated officer with the San Antonio Police Department. On November 16, 1978, Detective Salazar was shot and killed while serving a narcotics search warrant at a public housing project in San Antonio, Texas. The suspect, who was inside the residence, fired two shots through the front door, striking Detective Salazar in the head. The suspect was apprehended and later sentenced to 30 years in prison. However, the suspect has since been paroled.
