Matthew Jackson, a 29-year-old man from San Antonio, Texas, tragically died on August 31, 2013. Jackson was shot by an off-duty Bexar County sheriff's deputy, Anthony Thomas, following a minor traffic accident on Loop 1604 near Lookout Road. Thomas, who was in uniform but off duty at the time, claimed he felt threatened when Jackson approached his car with what appeared to be a shiny object in his hand.
