On May 5, 2024, at approximately 2 a.m., Aaron Montgomery, 28, was fatally shot alongside 22-year-old Jonyai Lavaughn Napoleon in the parking lot of the Park North Shopping Center in San Antonio, Texas. The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 600 block of Northwest Loop 410, where they discovered both men with gunshot wounds. Despite emergency responders' efforts, Montgomery and Napoleon were pronounced dead at the scene.
A 23-year-old woman was also listed as a third victim in the preliminary police report; her vehicle was shot at, but she was not injured.
Security personnel at the shopping center reported seeing two men fleeing the scene immediately after the shooting. Upon the arrival of law enforcement, the area was chaotic, with multiple individuals dispersing. The SAPD has classified the case as a capital murder investigation.
As of now, no arrests have been made, and the identities of any suspects remain unknown. The SAPD continues to investigate the incident and urges anyone with information to come forward to assist in solving this case.
