Moody Charles Smith, a 58-year-old male of unspecified ethnicity, met an untimely death on August 9, 1982, in Grand Prairie, Texas. He was the operations manager at Western Transfer Company. Smith's death was part of a tragic event involving a disgruntled truck driver named John Felton Parish. Parish, who was 49 years old, went on a violent rampage that morning, killing six people, including Smith, and wounding three others before being shot and killed by police.
