Gary Reeves Blair, a 30-year-old male police officer with the Dallas Police Department, was tragically killed in the line of duty on March 20, 1986. Officer Blair, badge #4500, was shot and killed with his own weapon after making a traffic stop inside an apartment complex parking lot in the 1400 block of North Zang Avenue in Dallas, Texas. During the traffic stop, the person Blair stopped exited his vehicle, and a struggle ensued. A second man exited the vehicle and began to help the first man.
