On October 25, 2021, 28-year-old Hispanic male Andrés Torres was fatally shot at the Budget Suites of America extended-stay hotel located in the 9500 block of Forest Lane, near Interstate 635, in Dallas, Texas. According to witness accounts, an argument had ensued between Torres and 29-year-old Leon Dendell Pace. Pace allegedly confronted Torres, calling him a "snake" and threatening to shoot him.
