Corporal Lawrence Rudy Cadena Sr., aged 43, was a dedicated officer with the Dallas Police Department, having served for 17 years. On December 13, 1988, he was tragically shot and killed during an undercover narcotics investigation near the intersection of North Fitzhugh Avenue and Capitol Avenue.
