Derrick Lump Jackson

Derrick Lump Jackson, a 12-year-old African American boy, was tragically murdered on September 23, 1990, in Vernon, Texas. Derrick, along with his 14-year-old brother James Edwards, was shot and killed by an unknown intruder in their apartment during the early morning hours. Their mother, Linda Jackson, was also shot multiple times but survived the attack. The intruder, described as a black male between 5 feet 8 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with a heavy build, fled the scene on foot.
