Constable Darrell Edward Lunsford Sr., aged 47, was shot and killed on January 23, 1991, while on duty in Nacogdoches, Texas. Lunsford, who served with the Nacogdoches County Constable's Office - Precinct 3, was conducting a routine traffic stop on U.S. Highway 59 near Garrison when he discovered marijuana in the trunk of the suspect's vehicle. The three suspects, Baldemar Villarreal, Reynaldo Villarreal, and Jesus Cortez Zambrano, then attacked Lunsford, beating and stabbing him before shooting ...
