Sergeant Kent Dean Kincaid, a 40-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was shot and killed on May 23, 1998, in Houston, Texas. At the time of his death, Kincaid was off-duty and driving with his wife when an object was thrown from a passing pickup truck, shattering their windshield. Kincaid pursued the vehicle and pulled it over, identifying himself as a police officer.
