On May 18, 2004, 19-year-old Kimberlie Lynn Tijerina, a young Hispanic woman from Waco, Texas, was tragically killed. Reports indicate that she died as a result of gun violence.

Authorities identified her boyfriend, Mendez, as the perpetrator. Prior to this incident, Mendez had a documented history of abusing Kimberlie and had been previously arrested on charges of assault against her. Following her death, Mendez was arrested and subsequently pled guilty to her murder. He received a sent ...
