In the summer of 2009, a fatal act of violence cut short the life of 41-year-old Mauro Brito-Pacheco in Kansas City, Missouri. On the evening of August 10th, Brito-Pacheco was at his place of employment, Tina's Hair Salon, situated in the 900 block of West 24th Street. The workday turned tragic when three armed individuals entered the salon with the intent to commit a robbery.
