In the summer of 2009, a fatal act of violence cut short the life of 41-year-old Mauro Brito-Pacheco in Kansas City, Missouri. On the evening of August 10th, Brito-Pacheco was at his place of employment, Tina's Hair Salon, situated in the 900 block of West 24th Street. The workday turned tragic when three armed individuals entered the salon with the intent to commit a robbery.
During the course of the robbery, one of the assailants discharged their weapon, striking Brito-Pacheco.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and he was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, his injuries proved to be too severe, and he succumbed to the gunshot wound shortly after arriving.
In the wake of the deadly shooting, law enforcement officials launched an investigation into the robbery and homicide. However, the three armed suspects who entered the salon and were responsible for Brito-Pacheco's death have not yet been identified or apprehended.
