Inside a residence in the 5900 block of Cypress Place, gunshots erupted, leaving Gibson, a male, fatally wounded. Police were called to the scene at 9:59 p.m. and discovered his body. There is conflicting information regarding his age at the time of his death; police reports state he was 37 years old, while an obituary lists him as

The violence of that evening was not limited to one victim. Approximately 20 minutes after Gibson was found, a second shooting victim was located at another residence in the 5700 block of Bales. This individual was seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. Investigators believe this second person was also shot at the Cypress Place location before fleeing the scene.
