Mark Anthony Horton, a 49-year-old man from Houston, Texas, tragically lost his life on September 12, 2014. Horton was known for his kind-hearted nature and was often referred to as a "Good Samaritan" due to his willingness to help others. On the day of his death, Horton intervened to assist a woman who was being robbed in the 700 block of Frankie in east Harris County. Unfortunately, while trying to prevent the robbery, Horton was shot and killed by the assailant.
