Captain Jonathan Nyle Muniz, a 42-year-old officer from Rocky Ford, Colorado, was found dead on January 8, 2015, near Fort Hood, Texas. Muniz, who had served in the Army for 11 years, was discovered with an apparent gunshot wound. He had been deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan during his military career and was serving with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 1st Air Cavalry Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division, at Fort Hood since January 2012.
