Atrayu Ramal Davis, a 28-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 17, 2016, in Killeen, Texas. The incident occurred during a violent altercation that resulted in a double homicide. On that fateful day, Killeen police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting at the Eastlake Shopping Center parking lot. Upon arrival, officers discovered the lifeless body of 29-year-old Cortney Turrell Guy, another African American male, who had been involved in an argument with Davis. Both men were armed, and during the confrontation, they exchanged gunfire, leading to their deaths.

Davis was found in a reddish-orange vehicle on North 18th Street, having been mortally wounded during the shootout. The driver of the vehicle, who was also involved in the altercation, drove Davis to that location before succumbing to his injuries. Justice of the Peace Bill Cooke pronounced Davis dead at 5:38 PM and ordered autopsies for both victims.

Atrayu Ramal Davis had a history with law enforcement, having been previously held in the Bell County jail on drug and burglary charges. He served seven years for burglary of a habitation and possession of a controlled substance out of Bell County. Additionally, he served time for prohibited substance in a correctional facility out of Johnson County. Davis was released under mandatory supervision on March 20, 2015.

The investigation into the deaths of Davis and Guy revealed that the two men had a prior history of conflict, which ultimately culminated in the deadly confrontation. The Killeen Police Department conducted a thorough investigation, but no further arrests or suspects were identified in connection with the incident. The case was classified as a double homicide resulting from mutual gunfire, and no additional litigation or legal actions were pursued.
