Casey Contreras, a 22-year-old Hispanic male, tragically lost his life on January 8, 2015, in Houston, Texas. Casey was the son of Tony Contreras and Gema Ramirez, and he grew up in a large, loving family on the north side of Houston. He was known for his wonderful sense of humor and his dedication to his family, especially his wife Diana Hernandez and their twins, Aaliyah Marie and Mya Adara.
Casey was working alongside his father and uncle at their used car lot, Immaculate Auto Sales, when the incident occurred.
On the day of his death, Casey was at the dealership with his father Tony and uncle Jesse Contreras. James Tinsley, a former customer of the dealership, entered the premises with a firearm and opened fire, killing Casey, his father, and his uncle on the spot. Casey was still alive when a mechanic discovered the victims, but he succumbed to his injuries the following day in the hospital. Tinsley attempted to burn down the dealership after the shooting but was apprehended by the police shortly after.
James Tinsley was arrested and charged with capital murder for the deaths of Casey, his father Tony, and his uncle Jesse. He confessed to his girlfriend, who then informed the authorities, leading to his arrest. Surveillance footage from the dealership captured Tinsley entering the premises with a backpack, from which he retrieved the firearm and began shooting. Tinsley was later convicted of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole.
