Detective Victor Ray Wells III, aged 33, was a male officer of the Houston Police Department who tragically lost his life on October 2, 1980. He was fatally shot in the chest by a cab driver in the 6800 block of Harrisburg around 10 p.m. Despite being rushed to Ben Taub Hospital, Detective Wells succumbed to his injuries.
