On March 17, 2025, 29-year-old African American man Tarrance Lavar Thompson Jr. was fatally shot at the Costa Mesa Apartments located at 14150 Tomball Parkway in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred during a confrontation involving Thompson and his sister's ex-boyfriend. According to reports, the altercation escalated, leading to Thompson being shot and killed at the scene.
