Matthew Holmes, a 37-year-old man from Charlotte, North Carolina, was last seen in May 2008. He had reportedly been living in the Charlotte area and had told a friend that he was attempting to reach Mexico by jumping trains. Holmes had been out of contact with his family for several years, and his mother officially reported him missing on April 27, 2011, when she had not heard from him since his disappearance.
