Derek Prudhomme, 18, was tragically killed on May 28, 2007, in Houston, Texas. The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. in the 7900 block of Grow Lane, near the Park West Apartments in northwest Houston. According to police, the fatal event was a drive-by shooting. Derek was shot while outside and managed to knock on the door of a nearby apartment seeking help but, unfortunately, succumbed to his injuries before assistance could arrive.
