Pfc. Elvis Lee Bingham, a 35-year-old male soldier originally from Gainesville, Georgia, died on March 7, 2015, from an apparent gunshot wound at his off-post residence in Killeen, Texas. Bingham had recently returned from a deployment in support of Operation Enduring Freedom and was assigned to the 43rd Engineer Company, 2nd Squadron, 3rd Cavalry Regiment at Fort Hood. The Killeen Police Department investigated the incident and determined that the gunshot wound appeared to be self-inflicted.
