Lawrence Bert Cole, a 30-year-old male from Pleasanton, Texas, tragically lost his life on December 2, 2015. The incident occurred during a shootout on East Adams Street in Pleasanton. Cole, along with another individual, Selena Ramon, was found injured at the scene. Both were airlifted to the University Hospital in San Antonio for treatment. Following the shootout, an arrest warrant was issued for Serna on December 11, 2015, after investigators determined probable cause. The Pleasanton Police Department coordinated with the San Antonio Police Department to execute the warrant, and Serna was taken into custody in San Antonio without incident. He was subsequently brought to Pleasanton to be magistrated.
Serna faced serious charges, including murder and aggravated assault. His bond was set at $1 million for the murder charge and $250,000 for the aggravated assault charge. The case highlighted the violent nature of the incident and the swift action taken by law enforcement to apprehend the suspect.
