On February 27, 2025, tragedy struck in Pleasanton, Texas, when 14-year-old Mesiah Rangel, a Hispanic male, was found fatally shot alongside his 17-year-old brother, Ray Gomez Jr. Their mother discovered them unresponsive and bleeding in a shed behind their home near the corner of 3rd Street and Pleasanton Avenue. Authorities responded to the distress call around 5:20 a.m., quickly determining that both teenage victims had succumbed to gunshot wounds.
