Brittany Daniel, a 26-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on January 27, 2016, in Arlington, Texas, due to a road rage incident. She was driving with a co-worker along Interstate-30 when a vehicle swerved up beside them. The occupants of the other vehicle began yelling out the window at Daniel. Aspen Shaquill Daron Warren, the driver of the other car, allegedly rolled down a passenger side window, grabbed a gun, and fired two shots out of the window, hitting Daniel.
Despite managing to pull over, she succumbed to her injuries at Arlington Memorial Hospital.
Following the incident, Arlington police received a tip that led them to Warren and the other three people in his vehicle. All three passengers identified Warren as the shooter. Warren was arrested two days later in Fort Worth and charged with murder. His initial bond was set at $500,000. The case was later taken to court, and in June 2017, a jury found Warren guilty of murder. He was sentenced to 50 years in prison.
The tragic death of Brittany Daniel shook her family and the community. Her father, Malcolm Daniel, expressed the profound impact of losing his daughter and vowed to find her killer. The family held a wake and funeral to celebrate Brittany's life and honor her memory. The incident also sparked discussions about road rage and the need for harsher penalties to prevent similar tragedies in the future.
