Blanca Nelly Lozano Guerra, a 39-year-old woman of Hispanic ethnicity, tragically passed away on January 1, 2021, in Arlington, Texas. She was born on May 23, 1981, in Pharr, Texas, to Francisca Garcia and Vicente Lozano. Blanca is survived by her four children: Luis H. Guerra Jr., Naydeline Guerra, Kimberly Guerra, and Briana Guerra.

On New Year's Eve, Blanca and her boyfriend, Mario Alanis, were celebrating in their backyard. Alanis attempted to fire a gun into the air to mark the occasion, but the gun did not go off. He then placed the gun on the ground and picked it up to reload it. Unfortunately, the gun discharged accidentally, and a bullet struck Blanca, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Mario Alanis, 34, was arrested later that day on a manslaughter charge. He was found in south Arlington and taken into custody by the police. The incident was determined to be an accident, and no further suspects or litigations were involved.
