On November 23, 2024, 18-year-old Alexis Johniyah Tyler from Mesquite, Texas, tragically lost her life in a shooting at an Airbnb-style rental in Arlington's Entertainment District. The incident occurred around 10:22 p.m. in the 600 block of Slaughter Street. Alexis was found unresponsive inside the apartment, along with a 19-year-old man who was celebrating his 20th birthday.
