Michael Anthony Tapia, a 16-year-old Hispanic male, was found dead on January 31, 2016, in a desert area near Flager Street and Tangerine Avenue in Montana Vista, El Paso, Texas. Deputies from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office responded to a call about an unresponsive person and discovered Tapia's body. The autopsy revealed that he had died from a single gunshot wound to the back of the neck, and it was believed that he had been dead for approximately two weeks before his body was found.
