In the early morning hours of October 25, 2020, a domestic argument in a residence on Kentucky Route 30, just north of London, ended in the shooting death of 38-year-old Don Roy Collett of East Bernstadt. A male, Collett was pronounced dead at the scene by the Laurel County Coroner. The incident prompted an investigation by the Laurel County Sheriff's Office.
Authorities identified Collett's girlfriend, 24-year-old Logan Baldwin, as the suspect.
Following the shooting, Baldwin fled the scene, leading to a search for her in the surrounding area. She was later located and apprehended by authorities in the neighboring Jackson County. A 9mm pistol was discovered inside her vehicle at the time of her arrest.
After being questioned by detectives, Logan Baldwin was charged with murder. She was subsequently lodged in the Laurel County Correctional Center. The investigation concluded that the fatal shooting was the result of a domestic dispute between the couple. Don Roy Collett was survived by his wife, Lindsey Collett, and their three children.
