Demontray Mackey, a 17-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on March 8, 2016, in San Antonio, Texas. The incident occurred when Mackey and his brother, Chrishaw King, were sitting in a car with three other men. They were ambushed by an assailant hiding in a nearby culvert. The shooter opened fire, resulting in the deaths of Mackey and 20-year-old Ishmael Haywood, another African American male. The other three men in the car were also shot but survived the attack.
