Eddie Edwards Jr., a 33-year-old resident of San Antonio, Texas, was fatally shot on August 8, 2023. The incident occurred at an apartment complex on Upland Road, near I-10 on the east side of the city.
Police reports indicate that three individuals broke into the apartment where Edwards was located. Surveillance footage captured the group entering and subsequently fleeing the scene.
During the incident, Edwards was shot in the chest and rushed to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Authorities have arrested Demontre Massengale and Scotty Ferguson in connection with the murder. Massengale sustained a gunshot wound to the arm during the incident. The identity and whereabouts of the third suspect remain unknown.
Massengale's bond has been set at $250,000. The investigation is ongoing as police work to uncover the motive behind the shooting and apprehend the remaining suspect.
