He left behind his wallet, which contained $300. At the time of his disappearance, he was described as a white male with blond hair and blue eyes, standing at 5'10" and weighing approximately 185 pounds. He was believed to be wearing a white mesh baseball cap with a logo.
The morning after Kyle was last seen, the Boise County Sheriff's Office received a call about individuals "acting really weird" at the Pine Flats campground. Upon arrival, law enforcement arrested Kyle's brother and his friend, who were described as being "out of their minds" and still under the influence of drugs. The wife of one of the men was found about 400 yards away, also high but coherent enough to recount the story of Kyle leaving to find a McDonald's.
