Joel Castro, a 23-year-old from Burley, Idaho, went missing on July 25, 2015, while spending the day with family at Redfish Lake near Stanley, Idaho. Castro was on a rental boat with relatives when he jumped into the water around 3:36 p.m. to retrieve a lost item, approximately 200 yards from Point Campground. The cold temperatures of the lake quickly overwhelmed him, and despite attempts by others in the boat to rescue him, Castro never resurfaced.
