Brent Alan Thompson, a 43-year-old white male, was a police officer with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit Police Department. On July 7, 2016, he was tragically killed during a protest in downtown Dallas, Texas. The protest was organized in response to the fatal police shootings of Alton Sterling and Philando Castile.
