Captain Robert Louis Poynter III, aged 47, was a dedicated firefighter and paramedic with the University Park Fire Department in Dallas, Texas. Born on April 30, 1969, in Utica, Michigan, he was known for his unwavering commitment to his community and his role as a loving father to his three daughters. On the night of September 9, 2016, Captain Poynter was found shot in the head while sitting in his wife's Jeep on a remote rural road near Royse City, Texas.
