In the late afternoon of a winter day, tragedy struck in the nation's capital. On Friday, February 15, 2019, a young man's life was cut short by violence. Matthew Washington, a 20-year-old male, was in the 100 block of Harry Thomas Way, NE, when he was fatally shot at approximately 3:50 p.m. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain largely undisclosed to the public, leaving a veil of mystery over the events of that day.
