On August 30, 2024, at approximately 11 p.m., Royse City Police Department officers responded to a reported accidental shooting at a residence in the 6100 block of County Road 2597 in Royse City, Texas. Upon arrival, they found 18-year-old Alexander Villegas, a student at Royse City High School, conscious with a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
