Pvt. Wanya Bruns, a 20-year-old male soldier of African American ethnicity, tragically died on November 26, 2016, in Killeen, Texas. He was assigned to the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division at Fort Hood. The Killeen Police Department investigated his death and determined that it was due to a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Bruns had joined the Army in February 2016 as a cavalry scout.
