Jhirmack Wartell Brown, a 39-year-old African American male, was identified as the 15th murder victim in Killeen, Texas, in 2021. Brown was shot and killed on October 31, 2021, during the early hours of Halloween. The incident occurred in the 1200 block of Middleton Street, where Brown and another man were involved in a verbal altercation inside a residence. The argument escalated, leading both men to draw their firearms and shoot at each other.
When officers responded to a "shots fired" call at 2:34 a.m., they found Brown deceased at the scene, while the other man was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, where he was listed in stable condition.
The other individual involved in the shooting was identified as 43-year-old Perry Tyshawn Davis. According to the Killeen Police Department, Davis and Brown had a heated argument that resulted in both men pulling out their guns and firing at each other. Davis was struck and injured but survived the encounter. Brown, however, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Bell County District Attorney's Office issued a warrant for Davis's arrest on November 4, 2021, and he was subsequently arrested the following day in the 1300 block of Powder River Drive. Davis was charged with murder and transported to the Bell County Jail.
