Dimarcues Burks Ballard, a 27-year-old male of African American ethnicity from Houston, Texas, tragically lost his life on February 8, 2017. He was fatally shot in the city's southwest area while talking to 26-year-old Leandrew Cordell Hicks. According to witnesses, Hicks pulled out a gun and shot Ballard before fleeing the scene in a dark-green Honda Accord. Ballard was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics who had already been treating him when police arrived.
