On January 26, 2012, James M. Clavin, aged 34, was shot and killed in the Soulard neighborhood of St. Louis, Missouri. The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. as Clavin was leaving a nightclub located near 1535 South 8th Street. According to reports, Clavin intervened when he noticed a verbal altercation involving a female stranger and several unknown men.
