On July 17, 2012, Eugene M. Pettiford, aged 41, was found shot inside a residence located on East 31st Street in Kansas City, Missouri. Officers were dispatched to the scene after a disturbance was reported. Pettiford was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
