In the summer of 2012, a Kansas City, Missouri community was shaken by the violent and untimely death of Eugene M. Petiiford. On July 17th of that year, the 41-year-old man's life was cut short in what authorities believe was a robbery that took a tragic turn. The incident unfolded at a residence located at 8621 E 31st Street, where a disturbance call brought police officers to a grim scene.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered Petiiford inside the home, suffering from a gunshot wound.
