Redrick Robinson, a 30-year-old African American male, was fatally shot in the early hours of September 30, 2017, in Belton, Texas. The incident occurred inside a residence on Carla Kay Drive, where Robinson was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds in the master bedroom. Authorities responded to a 911 call placed at approximately 4:54 a.m. by a witness who reported the shooting.
Upon arrival, police found evidence of forced entry into the home, suggesting that the assailants had broken in before carrying out the attack.
Belton police launched an investigation and soon identified two male suspects believed to be involved in the homicide. One of the suspects was described as having a medium build and standing between 5-foot-5 and 5-foot-7. A composite sketch of this individual was released to the public in an effort to generate leads. The second suspect, also described as having a medium build, was estimated to be slightly taller, ranging between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot-1. Although no sketch was made of the second suspect, authorities hoped that witness descriptions would aid in their identification.
Investigators also released an image of a vehicle believed to have been used by the suspects. The car was identified as a light-colored 2011 or newer model Ford Explorer. Surveillance footage captured near the crime scene showed the vehicle, though the image was somewhat grainy. Despite these efforts, no arrests were immediately made, and the case remained unsolved. Authorities urged anyone with information to contact Belton Police or Bell County Crime Stoppers, offering multiple avenues for anonymous tips.
Two weeks after Robinson’s murder, another home invasion was reported in the same neighborhood. However, police stated that they did not believe the two incidents were related. The investigation into the death of Redrick Robinson continued, with law enforcement working to identify and apprehend the individuals responsible for the crime.
