Karla Kaye Plain Holcombe, a 58-year-old woman, tragically lost her life on November 5, 2017, in Sutherland Springs, Texas. She was attending a worship service at the First Baptist Church when a gunman opened fire, resulting in the deaths of 26 people, including Karla. The shooter, identified as Devin Kelley, had a history of domestic violence and had been court-martialed by the U.S. Air Force for assaulting his wife and stepson.
