Peggy Lynn Stevens Warden, a 56-year-old woman from La Vernia, Texas, tragically lost her life on November 5, 2017, during the horrific mass shooting at the First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs, Texas. She was attending the church service with her grandson, Zachary Poston, when the gunman, Devin Kelley, opened fire on the congregation. Peggy Lynn Warden, a devoted Christian and beloved member of her community, made the selfless decision to shield her 18-year-old grandson from the gunfire.
