Two-year-old Mateo Lee has been missing since July 8, 2024, from Sacramento, California. He and his older sister, Athena Lee, who was four at the time, are believed to be with their father, Camron Lee. The children's disappearance is connected to the death of their mother, Angelica Bravo, who was found deceased in her residence on Didcot Circle in Sacramento on the same day the children were last seen.
When Sacramento Police officers responded to a call for service at the home, they discovered Bravo's body and that Mateo and Athena were missing.
At the time of his disappearance, Mateo was described as being 2 feet 5 inches tall and weighing 25 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. The State of California's Department of Justice website lists him as being 2 feet 6 inches tall and weighing 22 pounds, with a date of last contact of July 3, 2024. He is of Asian descent.
Authorities have identified the children's father, Camron Lee, also known as Saroeun Chea, Tae Won Lee, or “Major,” as a person of interest in the case. Initially, investigators could not pursue him as a suspect because he is the children's biological father, and Bravo's death had not been ruled a homicide. However, following an autopsy, investigators announced in April 2025 that Lee is wanted for her murder. A federal arrest warrant for unlawful flight to avoid prosecution was issued for Lee on August 20, 2024. He was also charged with four counts of possession of an assault weapon on July 26, 2024.
On July 8, 2024, Camron Lee was last seen in his vehicle crossing into Mexico. His car, a 2023 Honda Pilot, was later found unoccupied in Ensenada, Mexico, on July 19, 2024. Law enforcement officials believe that the children may have been dropped off somewhere in Southern California. An Endangered Missing Advisory was issued for several Southern California counties, including Fresno, Kern, Kings, Los Angeles, Merced, Orange, and San Diego. The FBI is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information that leads to the location and recovery of Athena and Mateo. A separate reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Camron Lee.
