Kevin Francis O'Toole, a 60-year-old man from New Braunfels, Texas, was found dead at the Padre Island National Seashore on December 29, 2017. His body was discovered by visitors floating in the surf about two miles south of the Malaquite Beach Visitor Center. O'Toole's truck was found nearby, and park rangers were the first to respond to the scene. The Nueces County Medical Examiner's Office conducted a preliminary autopsy and determined that O'Toole had died from a gunshot wound to the head. H
