Mauricio Morales Canas, a 39-year-old Hispanic man, tragically lost his life on January 8, 2018, in Galveston, Texas. He was fatally shot by his wife, Flor de Maria Pineda Canas, who then took her own life after killing their two sons, ages 10 and 5. The incident occurred at the upscale San Luis Resort, where the family was staying. Police were called to the scene after guests reported hearing gunshots.
