Jenny and her husband, Bao Lam, both 61, were ambushed and murdered in their home in a gated community. The couple was known for their hard work and dedication, having built a successful life in Houston, including owning several Subway franchises.
Authorities believe that Jenny and Bao Lam were targeted by three individuals who ambushed them as they arrived home and forced them into their house. The suspects then bound, robbed, and executed the couple. The Harris County Sheriff's Office arrested three suspects—Khari Ty Kendrick, Aakiel Ricardo Kendrick, and Erick Alfredo Peralta—on charges of capital murder. One of the suspects confessed to the crime, and surveillance footage helped identify the perpetrators.
The investigation revealed that the suspects had broken into the gated community, sneaked past the entrance, and repeatedly entered the victims' home over several days. The Lams' son discovered their bodies when he went to check on them after not hearing from them since Thursday. The suspects were eventually caught and charged with capital murder. Erick Peralta was sentenced to life in prison without parole, while Khari Ty Kendrick received a similar sentence. Aakiel Ricardo Kendrick is awaiting trial.
